Day 6: July 20, 2010

Activities:

  1. Discussions
  2. Continued assembly of the robotic components, and programming of behaviors in PureData (Jim Ruxton)

Construction of Robotic Components:

  • Experimented with the mounting of the linear actuator onto a grip stand (provided by CAFA)
  • Acquired pico-projector, Arduino, and LCD screen from the equipment cage at CAFA Digital Lab
  • Jim Ruxton assembled robotic arm using the linear actuator, and two perpendicularly-placed servo motors – a blank PCB board was mounted onto the motor assembly, to serve as platform for the pico-projector
  • Jim commenced programming of PureData patch, which would control the movement of the linear actuator/ servo motors (in conjunction with an Arduino and a servo controller board)

Equipment Acquired:

  • Controller Board for Servo Motors
  • Arduino
  • Grip Stands (2)
  • Pico Projector
  • Blank PCB board (for mounting of picoprojector)
